Deodorant, a meal in the dorm, a Scantron, clean sheets. Small things decide whether a student keeps going.

Why these drives

Small drives. Real help.

Each drive answers a need students run into on campus and rarely talk about. You collect what's needed, deliver it to the office that gets it to students, and EFF National verifies your hours.

Choose your drive

Four drives. You pick.

Run whichever one fits your campus. You can run more than one, and each one earns its own letter.

Fresh Start Hygiene Drive

4 hrs

Pantries focus on food, but deodorant, menstrual products and hair care are expensive and rarely donated. Decorate an EFF collection bin, place it in your dorm lobby, Greek house or student union, and run it for a week.

  • Toothpaste
  • Body wash
  • Lotion
  • Deodorant
  • Menstrual products
  • Hair care

Deliver to: your campus women's center or student pantry

Dorm-Friendly Grocery Drive

3 hrs

Canned food drives often collect things students can't cook in a dorm. Ask only for microwaveable, grab-and-go food, then pack it into EFF Weekend Bags.

  • Ramen
  • Easy Mac
  • Granola bars
  • Peanut butter
  • Fruit cups

Deliver to: your campus pantry or an RA of a freshman dorm

Midterm Must-Haves Drive

3 hrs

By midterms, students are out of supplies, including the Scantrons and Blue Books exams require. Set up a table outside the library or student union and bundle what comes in into Study Kits.

  • Highlighters
  • Index cards
  • Sticky notes
  • Unused Scantrons

Deliver to: a free basket at your library front desk

Suds & Quarters Laundry Drive

3.5 hrs

Laundry costs money, and detergent is heavy and expensive. Students re-wear clothes or skip washing their sheets to save cash. Collect laundry detergent from your peers (pods are easiest for students to carry).

  • Laundry detergent

Deliver to: the resident director of a low-income dorm or your campus basic needs office

No sign-up window. Start a drive whenever your schedule allows. Your drive, your campus, your timing.

How it works

Five steps to your letter.

  1. Sign in

Go to represent.estherfundsfoundation.org/service and sign in with the email you applied with. We email you a 6-digit code. No MyEFF account needed.

  2. Pick your drive

Open the drive you want. You'll see the plan, what to collect, where it goes and the three photos you'll need. First time? Take the 10-minute Briefing Module 16: Service Drives.

  3. Get your graphics

EFF designs them. Add your name, campus, drop-off spot and dates, then post the story, print the flyer and tape the sign to your bin. Please use EFF's graphics and don't make your own.

  4. Run it

Collect first, then give: before you can give out anything, you must collect it. Bundle what's donated and deliver it to the office named in your drive.

Tip: team up with your university and other campus organizations (the women's center, the pantry, residence life, student government, Greek organizations and clubs) to share your flyer, host a bin and collect more.

💜 Wear purple or EFF gear if you can, so students know who you are.
  5. Upload your proof

Add your three photos, where the drive ran and who received it, then submit. EFF National takes it from there.

Your letter

A Community Service Verification Letter from EFF National.

Once EFF National reviews your photos and verifies your drive, your official letter is emailed to you.

  • Your name, school, the drive, the dates and your verified hours
  • Signed on behalf of the Esther Funds Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
  • A link anyone can use to confirm it's real: your school, a scholarship committee or an employer
  • Print it or save it as a PDF, anytime
  • Every drive you run earns its own letter

Please remember

Five things that keep it right.

Collect first, then give

Before you can give out anything, you must collect it. Don't buy items to hand out.

Unopened items only

Everything you collect should be new and sealed.

Never collect cash

No money of any kind. Only the items listed for your drive.

Use EFF's graphics

Add your details to the graphics EFF made. Please don't design your own.

Wear purple

A purple shirt or EFF gear, if you can, so students know who's collecting.

Ambassadors

Sign in with your ambassador email

Use the email you applied with and we'll send a code. You don't need a MyEFF account, and running drives doesn't sign you up as an EFF member.

Already an EFF member?

Your MyEFF login works too

Members can sign in with MyEFF, and verified hours also go on their member record. Please don't create a MyEFF account just for drives: EFF membership is separate from being an ambassador.

Your campus is waiting.

Pick a drive, grab your graphics and help a student keep going.

“Who knows but that you have come to your position for such a time as this?”
